Monday June 9, 2026, our Grenadières on the lawn of the El Mauli Stadium, Antequera, Province of Malaga (Spain), in the 2nd and last friendly match of preparation for the final phase of the qualifiers for the Brazil 2027 World Cup (June 24 to July 25, 2027), faced the "Nzalang" (Lightning in Bantu language) the selection of Equatorial Guinea. A match which ended with the victory [3-1] for Haiti thanks to a double from Melchie Daëlle Dumornay alias "Corventina" and a goal from Lourdjina Étienne.

This victory is of great importance for the national selection, it allowed the team to evaluate its progress, identify the aspects requiring improvement and continue its preparation in the best conditions before the next major meetings in November.

Swedish coach Pia Sundhage has revealed a new starting lineup to face the Equatorial Guinea team. She made 4 changes from the last eleven which started the match against New Zealand. In defense she brought in #13 Bethina Petit-Frère and #5 Milan Pierre-Jérôme, in place of #20 Kethna Louis and #4 Tabita Dougenie Joseph. On the attack she brought in #17. Summary :

Our Grenadières, 47th in the world, without much effort, largely dominated this friendly match against the “Nzalang” of Equatorial Guinea (90th).

In the first period, Corventina opened the scoring in the 25th minute [1-0]. 5 minutes later, Lourdjina Étienne on a rebound continued and doubled the lead for Haiti in the 30' [2-0], score unchanged at half-time.

Returning from the locker room on an opening from Lourdjina Etienne, Corventina scored his double and a 3rd goal for Haiti [3-0].

In a final burst, the "Nzalang" managed to avoid humiliation thanks to a goal from Reina Nñegue 85’ [3-1], final score of this friendly match.
